Jekwon (Jay) Yeh, MD, MBA graduated cum laude from the University of California, Irvine, where he majored in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He then earned his M.D. from Boston University School of Medicine. He received specialty training in Radiation Oncology at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, where he also served as chief resident.

 

Dr. Yeh has specific expertise in the treatment of prostate, genitourinary, head and neck, breast, gastrointestinal, gynecological, central nervous system (CNS), sarcoma, skin, lymphoma, and lung cancers. He has extensive experience in Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), 3D-conformal radiotherapy, Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), Xofigo, and High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy. Dr. Yeh has performed close to 1000 HDR implants for prostate cancer treatment. He is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO), and the American Brachytherapy Society (ABS). He is also approved by SpaceOAR to perform rectal spacer implantations to help decrease the risk of rectal injury with radiation therapy for prostate cancer. He has performed over 500 cases of rectal spacer implantations.

 

Dr. Yeh has been the primary investigator of several clinical research projects in prostate, gastrointestinal and brain/central nervous system (CNS) malignancies. He was also the primary investigator of numerous clinical studies regarding polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacer usage during radiation therapy for prostate cancer. He has published scientific articles in peer reviewed journals including the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics (IJROBP), American Journal of Clinical Oncology (AJCO), and the Brachytherapy Journal. He has presented many of his research projects at international scientific conferences including ASTRO, American Brachytherapy Society (ABS), and ARS (American Radium Society). He has also been awarded numerous basic science and clinical research grants.  Dr. Yeh was also the Chairman of Continuing Medical Education (CME) at the Cancer Center of Irvine, which he founded in 2014.

 

Dr. Yeh currently serves as medical director at Adventist Health Glendale’s Cancer Center. Dr. Yeh’s leadership as chairman of Elsevier’s ClinicalPath Genitourinary Cancer Team highlights his expertise in the treatment of prostate, bladder, and testicular cancers. His expertise also includes other cancers including the breast, head & neck, lung, gastrointestinal, brain, and more.

During his previous tenure as assistant clinical professor at City of Hope National Medical Center, he was elected to the Medical Executive Committee representing hundreds of physicians.

 

Known for his compassionate patient care, Dr. Yeh takes pride in being at the forefront of clinical innovation. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, cooking, and caring for his two beloved rescue dogs.
